AFZ Chairman Meets China Gen-Consul

Dr.Abdul Galil Al-Shaibi the vice chairman of Free Zones Public Authority (FZPA) , the chairman of Aden Free Zone (AFZ)met at his office on 23/12/2009 H. E. China general consul who was recently appointed.The visit was his first visit aiming at acquainting himself with Aden Free Zone (AFZ) activity, the available investment opportunities in it, the advantages and facilities extended by it.
Dr. Al-Shaibi, highly appreciated this sincere initiative which expressed H.E. concern towards AFZ.
Dr. Al-Shaibi gave full illustration on the whole procedures related to investment, the available investment opportunities, plan and program for following up investment project implementation in various sectors.
AFZ chairman with H.E.the general consul and AFZ general directors then paid a fact finding visit to some of the existing plants in (L) sector:

1. The Industrial Riyadh Compound which belongs to Abdulla Husein Al-Attas,the investment cost of which amounts U$5 million for the 1st phase.Its trial production started by producing water tanks, ordinary water pipes, high-pressure water pipes.
2. Yemen Petroleum Plant, which mixes and packs oil materials and grease processes beside oil distillation.It costs U$1 million.The production shall start in mid of January 2010,89% of its products shall be marketed abroad and 11% in domestic markets.
3. Lob International Plant (oils) with investment cost amounts to U$30 million.It employs 100 Yemeni workers.Its products are exported to about 22 countries.In view of its success, the quality of its products and the big demand for its products the 2nd phase shall be started by expanding its production line which shall cost further U$30 million and will employ other100 Yemeni workers.
4. Star Cement Plant,which belongs to ITE companies the investment cost of which amounts to U$40 million.It shall produce 500,000 tons of cement annually increasable to 1,000,000.Its operation shall start through the coming 4 months.

H.E. the general consul expressed his appreciation on what he witnessed and promised to offer all aspects of support to AFZ through extending the required consultancies and expertise's and to attract Chinese giant investments.
